Love the colouring in this film, very soft and defused feels like patchy cloud throughout, also has very soft old vintage feel to the film to show it's time.
Dark misty dim lit shots work really well for atmosphere in the film looks as if very purposfully shot in natural light? Is this something I could further look at and plan to shoot at interesting times of day?
Traditional music throughout with natural sea and wildlife sounds creates a nice audio dynamic to the film. Could include natural sounds from walks to do this.
Like strong inclusion of accents and the lack of filtering them as this was issue with earlier projects. I like the unapproachableness of it and that it is such a strong cultural signifier.
The polka at the end is a nice way to finish the film, maybe take this forward as the polka is where the Common Riding Day ends and is a high note.
Really feels like doom and gloom start and then trajectory to it being all all right in the end. Wonder if there will be a similar story arch with the Common Riding.
